It's true; dark colors make lighter eye colors pop out more, because of the contrast. But be careful, because it might look too unnatural and gross if you dye your hair too dark. My friend has naturally dark brown hair and light blue eyes; his eyes stand out a lot. I would go with dark brown, but it also depends on your skin tone. Fair-skinned people might want to go for a lighter shade of dark brown, while more tan people would want to go for darker shades. Etc. etc.

black hair and blue eyes is gorgeous, but not if it's dyed. Stick with the natural. I also have dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, and people always complement me on my eyes.

You can go with your natural color, have your hair styled to accent your eyes, and then wear makeup to further accent them. You need to use contrasting eye shadow to make your eyes 'pop,' so using taupes, aubergines . . . anything that contrasts with the blue of your eyes will make a statement. Go to a shop that has a selection of colors and experiment. Also try experimenting with using an aubergine eye liner.

This site gives great advice for choosing a hair color. You'll want to make sure the color compliments your skin tone, too. Otherwise you can look too pale, and that isn't what will make your eyes "pop". It would just make you look ill.

The main points: choose a color that compliments your skin tone and makes you look vibrant and healthy, choose a color that won't make you look pale and washed out, and some recommend choosing a color that matches what your hair looked like when you were 12 years old. (If I did that, I'd look like a ghost...My hair was black and my skin pale!)

Nothing, NOTHING, makes blues eyes stand out like a head full of jet black hair.
Then stay away from lip gloss and use a red lipstick. Red, plain RED. No weird shades or tones.
Go try one a wig and the lipstick and see for yourself.

If you want your eyes to really stand out, I would go for a medium to dark chocolate brown...be sure to find out whether you need a cool or a warm shade based on your skin tone. Use a temporary color at first to find the shade you like best, then go permanent. Also, there is a brand of makeup (revlon maybe?) that has put together a makeup line specifically designed for your eye color. The blue eyes eyeliner is a coppery brown and I absolutely love it! The eyeshadow is nice too, but it's more of a going out sort of style.

If you want your eyes to stand out more a darker hair colour will indeed give it a nice contrast.
I suggest you dye it an expresso brown(dark brown) as oppose to black because from what you said black will probably look unnatural.
But whichever hair colour you choose you have to make sure it is SHINY! I cannot stress that more enough because when darker hair colours are dull it doesnt look so pretty :P

I have blue eyes and my natural hair color is dirty blonde too and i just dyed my hair black and people seem to love it and plus i def. think my eyes stand out alot more so id try black
